Twenty-eight hot air balloons are scheduled to participate in the 2015 Bluff International Balloon Festival. Now in it’s 17th year, the festival offers an up close opportunity to see these spectacular hot air balloons as they fly over the red rocks of Bluff and southeastern Utah.
The fun-filled weekend kicks off on Friday, January 16th at 7:00 a.m. as the balloons ascend and fly over Bluff. On Friday evening, the Bluff Elementary School sponsors a Navajo Taco dinner at the Community Center. Students from Bluff Elementary School will entertain the crowd with traditional Navajo dancing.
The balloons will fly over Bluff again on Saturday, January 16th with an ascension at 7:00 a.m. In the afternoon, head on over to the Community Center for afternoon and evening activities. Browse the selections from local artists at the Arts Fair from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. Mingle with pilots, crew, visitors and locals at the Chili and Ice Cream Social from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Treat yourself to a hot bowl of chili and a cool bowl of ice cream and your favorite toppings for a nominal charge. Then enjoy the Glow-In from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. as balloons light up the night sky at the Community Center.
On Saturday morning, the balloons will fly the Valley of the Gods. A caravan to the Valley of the Gods will leave the Bluff Community Center at 6:30 a.m. for a sunrise flight over the beautiful red rocks of Valley of the Gods.
