Bluff Library

Housed in a building with a colorful history, the community of Bluff is proud to have a fine library in our town.

Operating as a satellite of the San Juan County Library System, the Bluff Library features a wide array of books and periodicals for children and adults.

Over 100 years old, the building has served several purposes for the town of Bluff. Originally, the building was the Bluff school house.  Bluff's first permanent school was an imposing structure with a belfry, gabled roof, arched window, and in the 1930's a hardwood floor you could roller skate on.

In the early 1900's, the building was almost destroyed by fire.  The remains of the building were remodeled into a much reduced in size San Juan County jail in the 1960's.  The old jail was abandoned in the early 1980's and has since been remodeled into the Bluff Library.

Library Hours:  Tuesday and Thursday from 12 noon - 6 p.m.

There is now an after-hours dropbox outside the library to make it easier for you to return your books.
